Gordon Johnson worked for over forty years as an ESL publishing representative for such companies as Prentice-Hall and Cambridge University Press. He was very supportive of CATESOL and CATESOL Orange County Chapter teachers. Mr. Gordon Johnson valued the creativity demonstrated by many ESL instructors. It is for this reason that this award, created in his honor, will recognize ESL instructors who have developed or designed particularly innovative ESL materials or lesson plans.
